Ford Fiesta tdci won’t start, crank sensor
Переглядів 46 тис.3 роки тому
This 2006 Ford Firsta 1.4 tdci failed to start. Engine turned over but it wouldn’t fire. Code reader pointed me to the crank sensor. Also when looking at the live data the engine speed stayed at zero even when turning the engine over. Fairly easy fix in the end. Also don’t forget to clean the back of the pully wheel.

I'm off to B&Q with a spring in my step! Thank you for this!
Can this also happen to a MK8 Fiesta? Cause my heater doesn't work at all. Only blows air or cold air with a/c.
Yeah, I think it’s the same heating system in the mk8
@@pdunleavy1982 I have opened both sides and could not find that same object.
@@Kwarkiemodo it must be different then. I thought it might be the same.
i bought the 2017 plate van last year in may. it had done 71k miles. today it has got up to 87k. ive had no message stating an ol chnage or service is needed. if my car has been reset in this way, can the guy at the garage access a log file of this being done back last year? can a ford OBD machine show this info? I also do not get trye pressure messages. is this the case with the transit connect post 2017?
The reset interval is 22k miles I think. Not sure if you can access history. My newer van doesn’t show tyre pressure. Don’t think that’s a feature.
I change my timing belt. After change Tha timing belt my car not starting and show me camshaft and crankshaft sensor not working properly. Pls can u tell me what is possible
Maybe you haven’t got the timing right.
Thanks
excellent. having problem getting sound when connecting music from my ph. displays the songs name. I get sound through the radio. wont recognize the SD card. thanks from Canada!!
Hi! It's been a while since this vid was posted but still going to ask anyway. I got the same engine 1.4 tdci, 2004 model. Engine works, rpm picks up nicely when stationary but when it idles for a couple minutes (very low chance of it happening) or when I put it in gear and try to move engine dies, getting a P0337 code when I check via obd. How can I make sure it is the sensor causing this issue? I'm in a very small town with not very good mechanics around so I have to diagnose and fix this myself sadly. Any help would be appreciated
Not sure how to confirm. Maybe see if you can see the live data from the crank sensor. Check the wiring as well.
@@pdunleavy1982 can't check the live data because of the cheap obd reader, only shows me the crank speed but I managed to get a somewhat of an interesting reaction from it. Idle rpm dropped to around 500 and than back to 750 just before engine died with dashboard showing normal idle and when starting the engine rpm jumps to 1000-1100 even though the sound of the engine and dashboard indicates normal idle rpm? From what I can see the wiring looks fine for its age, no damage or anything. Ordered the sensor and going to replace it tomorrow, will post the results. I hope I can replace it without getting the pulley off, don't have tools for that 😬
Changed the crank sensor, was a bit hard but managed to pull it off without getting the pulley out. Sadly replacing the sensor didn't fixed my problem and p0337 code still remains
@@Eren_Sarp is the wiring definitely ok?
@@pdunleavy1982 got the car towed to an electrician, they said pcm signal was under the threshold and could range from a bad connector to a bad pcm. Wiring and the connector looked fine while I was replacing the sensor, maybe I missed a part? I hope they could tell me what the real problem is today, otherwise I will be stuck in this town for the next 2 weeks because of a national holiday...

Thank you so much mate. This is the exact one I have. Time to order a new part
Hi will this help the my car as its gone into poss limp mode ie its saying electric accreltor control fail on display will not go pass 2000 revs thank you
Thanks for vid and thanks for leaving the section in that showed you had to try again … that helped me a lot because I had exactly the same problem and realised the washer wasn’t quite seated properly … well done v helpful … and also the toilet internal parts were identical … plus helpful Amazon link page cheers dave
What is the top bit of the filler value, the little white thing that drops into the hole when the toilet stops filling (see it drops at 7.51 in this vid). This is what won't drop properly on my toilet. Any idea how to fix? Is it another rubber seal or similar?
Thanks
Thank you very much. This is the first ever payment.
Did I skip ahead, miss the part where he turns the water pipe off, and spray water all over my bathroom? Maybe.
I’m pretty sure that part was at the beginning.
Good to see someone work on the inlet valve instead of the flush, and show us what happens when it's not fitted properly, most helpful,
Thank you! You are a star ✨
Had watched other videos which only explained in part, this video helped me finally solve my problem with water continuing to run and it was down to not lining up the marks when replacing the washer! Thanks so much! Saved me paying out ££££s for what was a simple fix!
Not mentioned in these videos is there is a rubber inset in the lever arm circa 6mm dia. Not easy to see as white the same as the lever. This can be indented to such an extent it cannot form an air tight seal to the little hole in the end of the plastic piece he took out. The rubber can be pushed out from the rear turned round and reinserted to expose a fresh smooth surface. I replaced the sealed in the video but still had a problem. Turned round the seal in the lever arm solved the problem.
Im having the same problem, I do not see a rubber inset at all on the lever arm and cant find the part at all? I replaced the seal as in the vid (flow valve) but water is still jetting out of the little hole in the lever arm? And the toilet does not stop filling
www.lecicoafrica.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Siamp-inlet-Outlet-valve.pdf
Apparently part No 5 but where on earth do you get one of these?
can anyone tell me where is the PCV valve is in this engine? I tried so hard and didn't find any results
I don’t think diesel engines have a PCV valve.
Always preferred a handle flush, they broke less
Mine was filling very very slowly I replaced the rubber seal and now it won't stop filling 😂 help! Fitted old one and was slowly filling so at least I knew it wasn't the actual whole unit. Finally after many attempts I got it to work!
I literally had this exact same problem only a few days ago. Had the diaphragm replaced and then it started overfilling. The issue for mine was the top bit. If you look at the bit where there's a small hole and what looks like a rubber flange, press your finger down on the plastic part in the center of the hole. If it stops overfilling then you have the same issue I did. I fixed it by placing 3 very small washers under the lip of the white hole so it held the flange and the little plastic bit down, essentially simulating constant pressure downwards, and it works now!
Thanks for this video, it's exactly what I needed to help me to stop my toilet cistern overfilling :)
After i replaced my cracked leak off lines with genuine ford lines im getting tube from injector 4 popping off. I found that its a very easy to remove the hose from the fitting (manufacturers defect?). Replaced whole lines with one from ebay and now i had fitting on injector 4 coming off. Any advice whats going on? Im thinking could it be number 4 injector leaking and cousing higher pressure/flow on overflow side?
It might just need a new metal spring clip. It might be a bit stretched. Or squeeze your old one closed.
So, although as per below I attached the arms together, first time out and the arms have come apart again resulting in cold air all the time. Any advice on how to resolve that? @driveway mechanic
Try see if there’s some kind of clip you can fit to keep them together. Or maybe a little zip tie.
Why does it do it and do you have to release it like this every time? Asking for a friend's 2011 golf
I think the wiring was broke in the front door loom. In the bend by the hinge.
What about the passenger side mines just gone
Not sure. Haven’t got the car anymore. I think there’s more room on that side
Thanks you. Got this problem
This is a Euro4 car, mine its euro3 and its a bit different, but i still managed to do it today. Took me 6 hours, but at least i saved some money
Mine was a Mk 7 Fiesta and though it did not look the same as the arms looked different and there was something in front of it which made it really difficult to get to, the problem was exactly the same and once I had the grey button pushed into the white arm, we had temperature control again rather than just cold air. Thank you for the video otherwise I would never have resolved it myself.
I can’t seem to get the rocker cover back on as the o rings are preventing the cover from going all the way back into the intake manifold should I be easy or does it require a lot of effort, as I don’t want to apply too much pressure on the plastic
I think I cleaned up the O rings and put a bit of grease on them. It took a fair bit of force to push it down.
thnx man its really help me 👍 i got this rubber cheaper 3£
hi do you need to remove the clips or just push it open s bit and pull pipe out
Think you can just push them back. It’s a long time since I did this job.
Cheers as don't look like clips would come out without removing injector as they pushed in from back
The blend door actuator for my AC is making a clicking noise on the drivers side (MK7 fiesta). What’s the easiest way to get to it to replace it?
I’m not sure without looking at the car.
Camera person gave me motion sickness. Some advice, hold the camera steady and make slow, smooth movements.
i'm getting only hot air, no matter where i scroll the dial, do you think this could be the solution for my fiesta 2005
There’s a good chance it’s the same problem. Just stuck the other way
I've a similar issue but with the large directional dial in the middle how can I access that I can't get at it from either side panels
I’m not sure. I’m sure you can get to it somehow but I can’t remember.
Just watching this video and realised I own this car now 😂😂😂😂
Small world. Hope you’re getting on ok with the car.
Just fixed the same issue in an older Fiesta, Ford still using a crappy mechanism as it's cheap.
Brilliant
I do have the same problem, but not with the heater. It's the button for the air direction. Any idea? At first the direction button was very stiff and now it doesn't do anything. So now I do get air on my feet, front window and the air vents....
Chase the cable and see where it goes. Probably the same thing on the other side.
Certainly a better idea than the last video i watched with two hacks removing the wheel well liner and smashing the tire / rim with a 2 x 6 to free it up before removing 8 bolts to drop the liner. Great idea!!!
Just seen that 😅
Thank you for taking the time to post this. It worked a charm! (after I managed to line up the valve notches properly. Glad I wasn't on hourly rates...)
Glad it helped
Thanks - replaced the rubber seal already on mine but it wasn’t switching off the inflow when full, your video helped me fix it
I just ordered two ball cock rubber
Thank you, that little tip to get the rubber aligned at the top has made all the difference, now at last the water has shut off....and for good as I was about to call out a plumber...!!
Great tip it would not stop filling for me until I saw this video and comment. Working perfectly now
Cheers mate. Worked great on my girlfriends car. Life saver
Please clarify what you did ‘wrong’ as I clearly have? I have done it twice now, taking care to match the notches & fail to see what the issue is why it won’t stop filling/shut off
I didn’t line the notch up first time. When you pull it up with your finger, does it stop the water?
Thank you so much.I replaced the valve but now cistern is over filling. Think I need to adjust the float level but unsure how 😖
Usually you can just twist the screw that the float is attached to.
@@pdunleavy1982Yes, I found ‘turn to left to left’ to lower water level but didn’t make any diff
